The Vision Behind Ophelia’s Wishes

Ophelia’s Wishes is where fiction meets vision board — a place for women to name the lives they see in their minds and turn those wishes into fictional stories they can use as they move toward the dreams they want to bring to fruition.

The name comes from Ophelia, a fictional character in Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

She is remembered as a woman overcome by what she could not say, could not choose, and could not survive. When there is no safe place left for her grief, her love, her anger, or her truth, she speaks in flowers: rosemary for remembrance, pansies for thoughts, rue for sorrow, daisies for innocence, violets for faithfulness, along with fennel and columbines.

The fate of Ophelia is tragic, but yours does not have to be.

Ophelia’s Wishes imagines another possibility.

Here, the things women carry do not have to stay unsaid: the wish for a different career, a business idea, a creative endeavor, a home that feels like yours, the freedom to choose what you want, or the love story you have not yet dared to believe in.

Instead of disappearing under the weight of an unspoken life, your wish becomes a story.

And the story becomes a place to begin.

Fennel, daisies, and rue carry complicated meanings — flattery, innocence, sorrow, and regret. At Ophelia’s Wishes, they become the dream of stepping out of confusion and into clarity, light, and possibility.

Daisies and violets are tied to innocence and faithfulness. Here, they become the dream of beginning again without losing the tender, hopeful part of yourself.

Pansies are for thoughts, while columbines carry the ache of misunderstanding and wounded love. Here, they become the dream of being seen, understood, and finally allowed to become.

Rosemary & Violets

Rosemary is for remembrance, and violets are for faithfulness. Here, they become the dream of remembering who you are — and staying faithful to the life that keeps calling you.
